Talleyrand Simulator
A downloadable sleazebag simulator
Talleyrand Simulator is a sleazy, silly historical visual novel created as part of the NaNoRenO 2024 game jam.
Our 1.0 build is fully playable, but we know there presently are a number of audio issues — we are working to fix it! Stay tuned for 4/7, when we push v1.1 !
“Has a clever man ever the need to commit a crime?”
- Charles Maurice de Talleyrand-Périgord, literally the crookedest crook of the Early Modern Era

An ancient feudal regime is rotting away French power and prestige. France’s creditors demand change – and boy, oh boy, are they about to get some change. Revolutions, executions, conspiracies, wars, and coups abound. Europe will be quite rocked.
And as the sleaziest, scummiest socialite in France, surely you can make use of some of that chaos, right?
You are Foreign Minister Talleyrand, and you ride atop a wave of 40 years of French history, scooping up all the cash, lovers, power, and personal victories you can along the way.
Leave your legacy as the most cunning, cutthroat, charismatic cat on the continent, or die trying.

- A highly reactive choose-your-own adventure that accounts for and holds you accountable for a wealth of meaningful and historically prescient decisions.
- A fully customizable Talleyrand — body type, skin tone, pronouns, and voice set.
- 24 historical figures from the Age of Revolutions, remixed and genderbent to present a diverse cast of characters (because who the heck wants to play a game with more than 20 old white dudes).
- About 60,000 words across all decisions and outcomes — mostly historical (or at least a little bit plausible).
- About 30,000 words per playthrough (that’s ~3 hours of playtime) that spans a lifetime of chicanery and shagging.
- An original OST with 5 jazzy songs to get you in the mood for vice.
- Partial voice acting for all 24 characters.

Talleyrand Simulator contains death, profanity, mentions of sex, and innuendo.
